A ridgling from the first crop by GI Florida Derby hero Scat Daddy (Johannesburg) brought a final bid of $400,000 to top the early returns at OBS March Tuesday. Bred by Machmer Hall and consigned by Old South Stable, agent, the bay was purchased by K.K. Eishindo. Cody Autrey, who has trained a few for Machmer Hall's Carrie Brogden, dropped the slip on the dam, Madagascat (Tale of the Cat), claiming her for $35,000 at Fair Grounds in 2007. This is her first foal. The 6-year-old mare also has a yearling filly by Exchange Rate and was bred to Malibu Moon for 2011.
