A Hill 'n' Dale-consigned colt by top sire Medaglia d'Oro was the subject of some intense bidding Tuesday afternoon at Keeneland and was ultimately knocked down for a final bid of $600,000 to bloodstock agents Nick Sallusto and Hanzly Albina on behalf of Black Rock Stables. Bred by Dell Ridge Farm, hip 469 is the latest produce of Violent Beauty (Gone West), a granddaughter of champion and recent Hall of Fame inductee Sky Beauty whose 2-year-old of this year Laertes (Shakespeare) won his maiden in impressive style sprinting over the turf at Woodbine.
