Funny Moon (m, 5, Malibu Moon–Fun Crowd, by Easy Goer), winner of the GI CCA Oaks in 2009, was hammered down to Lincoln Collins, agent for Len Riggio's My Meadowview Farms, for $2.3 million in the 7 p.m. hour Sunday evening at Fasig-Tipton. The flashy chestnut mare was consigned to the sale by Gainesway, agent, and was offered in foal to Indian Charlie, sire of a half-dozen champions. Funny Moon held her form into her 4-year-old season, winning the GII Shuvee H. en route to earning $530,900 for Mrs. C. Wilson McNeely.
