Arguably the pick of the OBS March catalogue on pedigree, hip 426, who made just $60,000 at last year's Keeneland September sale, improved markedly over the last six months and was hammered down to Mark Casse as agent for $425,000 Tuesday afternoon. The striking dark bay colt is the first live foal produced by Sharp Susan (Touch Gold), a dual graded-stakes winner and Grade I-placed on the turf. Hip 126 was consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoughbreds, who signed the ticket last September. He breezed a sharp eighth of a mile in :10 flat at last Thursday's breeze show (video).
