Big Red Farm Goes to $1.1M for Empire Maker Colt

Hip 956, a colt by Empire Maker, is set to join his sire in Japan after being purchased by that country's Big Red Farm late in the fourth session of the Keeneland September yearling sale Thursday. From the draft of Peter O'Callaghan's Woods Edge Farm, the April foal is out of the multiple graded stakes winner and multiple Grade I stakes placed Lu Ravi (A.P. Indy), making him a three-quarter brother to multiple stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Ravi's Song (Unbridled's Song). Under the second dam is champion Halfbridled (Unbridled). The colt was bred by Nagako Fujita on the same cross as champion Royal Delta (Empire Maker).
