The first seven-figure yearling at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale came two hours into Thursday's session when lot 251, a Fastnet Rock (Aus) colt out of Smart Company (Aus) (Mister C), wound up selling to Coolmore for A$1.35 million (US1,423,680) after a protracted bidding battle. James Harron, agent for Dr. Edmund Bateman, was the underbidder. “He's by a great stallion and was probably the colt of the sale,” said Tom Magnier. “We'll give him to Gai Waterhouse to train. When you have all of the judges on the same horse, you know you're going to have to pay a premium.” The colt is out of a winning full-sister to Group 1 winner Super Elegant (Aus), as well as group winners Elegancy (Aus) and Mister Elegant (Aus).
