Bidding on behalf of a partnership headed by Dr. Mark DeDomenico, Mike Puhich was extended to an even $1-million to secure the Hill 'n' Dale-consigned and co-bred hip 426, a striking son of Smart Strike out of GSW and Sovereign Award winner Serenading (A.P. Indy) as the second day of bidding at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale was winding down in Lexington. The Mar. 9 foal is the second consecutive of his dam's produce to fetch a seven-figure pricetag following on the $1.2 million John Ferguson gave for the unraced colt Classic Devotion (Street Cry {Ire}) at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga last summer. Hip 426 descends fromīž an outstanding Hill 'n' Dale family which also includes Classic winner Touch Gold and Grade I winner Brilliant Speed (Dynaformer).
