A flashy chestnut colt by Heart's Cry (Jpn), sire of this year's Dubai Duty Free winner Just a Way (Jpn), sparked some fireworks at the Japan Racing Horse Association sale, with the Japanese MMB Co. Ltd. partnership eventually turning back challenges from other bidders including Qatar's Sheikh Fahad Al Thani to prevail at ᆬ155 million ($1,519,608). “The price was much higher than I thought it would be. I thought we could get him for around ᆬ100 million,” said MMB Principal Mamoru Suwa. The colt is a half brother to highly regarded three-year-old Bandwagon (Jpn) (White Muzzle {GB}), who had been a favorite for the Japanese Derby prior to sustaining an injury, and is out of Pirramimma (Unbridled's Song), a daughter of multiple American GII winner Career Collection (General Meeting).
