It didnﾒt take long for the seven-figure mark to be breached during the opening session of the Arqana August Yearling Sale in Deauville. Tony Nerses went to ﾀ1.2 million for Lot 11, a filly from the final crop of Monsun (Ger). The May foal is out of the stellar producer Sasuela (Ger) (Dashing Blade {GB}), making her a half to Group 1 winner Seismos (Ger) (Dalakhani {Ire}) (also the winner of todayﾒs G3 Geoffrey Freer S.); Group 3 winner Samba Brazil (Ger) (Teofilo {Ire}) and a full to multiple Group 1-placed Soberania (Ger). It is also the immediate family of this yearﾒs G1 Deutsches Derby hero Sea the Moon (Ger) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Five lots earlier, Monceaux sold its homebred Galileo (Ire) filly out of Royal Highness (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}) for ﾀ560,000 to the China Horse Club.
