Tiznow Filly Sells for $1.1 Million

The Bobby Flay-bred hip 549 made a splash during the third session of Keeneland September when the Tiznow filly sold to Stonereath Farm for $1.1 million. The Stone Farm consigned bay is the first foal out of GSP Countess Lemonade (Storm Cat), who is a half-sister to champion Duke of Marmalade (Ire) (Danehill) and G1SW Ruler of the World (Galileo). Dr. Christoph Berglar purchased Stonereath Stud, located outside of Paris, KY, in 2011. The operation has bred and campaigned a number of successful horses in both the United States and Europe, including MG1SW Novellist (Ire) (Monsun {Ger}). Hip 549 is the second Bobby Flay-bred horse to hit the million-dollar mark at the sale: hip 307, a filly by Tapit, went to Chiefswood Stables for an even $1 million during Tuesdayメs session.
