J “TDN Rising Star” J Taris demolished a field of Aqueduct maidens by nearly a dozen lengths at first asking Dec. 21 and was back at it again Saturday afternoon, running her rivals into the ground to take this black-type test by a comfortable margin. The heavily favored Taris broke on top and had some company to her outside in Maryland Millions Lassie S. winner Jonesin for Jerry (Great Notion), the only rival on paper who looked to have any chance. Taris began to get away after a half-mile in a snappy :45.79, floated a bit wide off the turn, but was never in danger as Steady N Love closed for second. “She just continues to impress me,” Beattie said. “I’m going to go south with her and try to avoid this cold weather, freshen her up a little bit at my sister Holly’s farm in Ocala. The logical spot to run her back would be the one turn mile here on March 8 (Caesar’s Wish S.) but we’ll have to see how the weather and all plays out. I love to run in this region. I’m stabled at Penn year round and I like the way I get treated when I come down here but I have the option in Florida to stay there and run in the Honeybee on the same day.” Click for the brisnet.com chart or VIDEO.
