Oliver Zip, a debut winner in a $40,000 maiden claimer at Laurel Nov. 6, was sixth to Extrasexyhippzster (Stroll) in Aqueduct’s Don Rickles S. Dec. 21. A close second to Hot Heir Skier (Wildcat Heir) in this venue’s Jimmy Winkfield S. Jan. 20, he romped by seven lengths in an allowance at this track and trip last time Feb. 21. Overlooked at the windows here, the chestnut broke on top and battled with Hot Heir Skier through early splits of :23.57 and :46.37. Oliver Zip easily put them all away in the lane to win by daylight. Hot Heir Skier faded to fifth. “I know visually he did it easy today, but I saw a tired horse,” said winning conditioner Kelly Breen. “We’ll see how he comes out of this race and might point him to the Bay Shore.” Click for the brisnet.com chart or VIDEO.
