Eight Entered for GII Rebel S.

EIGHT SOPHOMORES ENTERED IN GII REBEL 
A field of eight sophomores, lead by the top three finishers from the GIII Southwest S. Feb. 17, were entered for Saturday’s GII Rebel S. at Oaklawn Park. Winchell Thoroughbreds homebred Tapiture (Tapit) enters on a hot streak, having graduated two back in the GII Kentucky Jockey Club S. at Churchill Downs Oct. 27 and capturing the Southwest last time over this oval. Likely to get the morning-line nod here, the chestnut will break from the three-hole. Alongside him, in post four, will be GI Champagne S. winner Strong Mandate. The Robert Baker and William Mack colorbearer was a respectable third in the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile last term and started his sophomore season with a runner-up finish in the Southwest. Daniel Dougherty’s Ride On Curlin (Curlin) will emerge from post two on Saturday. The bay captured an allowance in Hot Springs Jan. 12 prior to rounding out the exacta in the Southwest. West Coast invader Kobe’s Back(Flatter) drew the outside post in this eight-horse affair. The CRK Stable runner romped by 5 1/4 lengths last time out in Santa Anita’s GII San Vicente S. Feb. 16.
