Lanni Back in Action for Harlan’s Holiday Filly
Bloodstock agent Donato Lanni, who signed for Monday’s session-topping Mineshaft colt, was back in action Tuesday at OBS April, going to $525,000 to secure a filly by Harlan’s Holiday from the Eisaman Equine consignment. Monday’s session topper was also consigned by Eisaman. Lanni, who was bidding on behalf of an undisclosed client, said the juvenile will join the Bob Baffert stable.
“She did everything right all week and I’ve got a lot of trust in Barry [Eisaman] and he liked her,” Lanni commented. “He’s had her since September. We use Barry in our program, so I trust him, he’s a good guy and that gives us a little more confidence in her.”
The bay filly, hip 563, is out of Ruby Summer (Mr. Greeley), a half-sister to group-placed Vague (Elusive Quality). She worked a furlong last week in :9 4/5.
Of the price tag, Lanni admitted, “We didn’t expect her to bring that, but the good ones cost a bit more. She worked great; she made a pretty video. She looked pretty on the racetrack.”
Bred by Nancy Cole, Charles Kidder and Ted Voute, the filly RNA’d for $40,000 at last year’s Keeneland September sale.
