De Kock Syndicate Unveiled
DE KOCK SYNDICATE UNVEILED
Internationally renowned South African-based trainer Mike de Kock will be at the forefront of a new syndicate aimed at racing South African-bred horses across the world. The Mike de Kock International Syndicate was launched Monday at a cocktail party in Hong Kong, with the trainer–alongside his bloodstock advisor Jehan Malherbe and Adrian Todd, Chief Operating Officer of Cape Thoroughbred Sales–on hand to address the audience.
“We’re very excited to be rolling this unique initiative out and look forward to welcoming participants from all around the world to race with us” said de Kock. “We want to promote the value and quality of South African-bred bloodstock to the world as well as all the great lifestyle aspects of South Africa. With most currencies performing so strong against the Rand, South African horses and tourism represent fantastic value.”
The MDK International Syndicate will look to acquire quality yearlings and tried horses suitable to race at the world’s major carnivals. The cost to buy into the syndicate will be R500,000 (US$45,606). De Kock and his team will purchase up to five yearlings at January’s Cape Premier Sale. Training fees for the first 12 months are included in the initial investment.
