Jeremy, 11 Euthanized

Jeremy (Danehill Dancer {Ire}–Glint In Her Eye, by Arazi) injured himself during routine exercise Sunday and was put down after breaking bones in his knee recovering from surgery reported Racing Post Monday. The Sir Michael Stoute charge was purchased by the Brushwood Stable of Betty Moran for $375,000 as a Keeneland November weanling from the consignment of his breeder, Brookdale Farm. Jeremy was off the mark in October of his 2-year-old year and captured the G3 Jersey S. as a sophomore. He added the G2 Sandown Mile S. as a 4-year-old and was twice Group 1 placed in the G1 Queen Anne S. and G1 Sussex S. The dark bay ended his career with a 10th in the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile behind Kip Deville (Kipling) after a tardy break and retired with a record of 16-4-6-1 and $459,538 in earnings. 

Jeremy originally stood at the Irish National Stud in 2008, but moved to Garryrichard Stud in Ireland as a dual-purpose sire in 2014. He is responsible for multiple graded-stakes winners Kool Kompany (Ire) and Yellow Rosebud (Ire) as well as multiple stakes-winner and multiple graded-stakes placed Pearl of Africa (Ire). The stallion’s second dam was German highweight and G1 Aral-Pokal victress Wind In Her Hair (Ire) (Alzao), dam of Japanese Horse of the Year and Champion 3yo Colt Deep Impact (Jpn) (Sunday Silence).
