Archarcharch Colt Tops Day 12

A $110,000 colt from the first crop of GI Arkansas Derby hero and Spendthirft Farm resident Archarcharch (Arch) topped the penultimate day of selling at Keeneland September Saturday, which saw decreases in average and median compared to last year’s corresponding session. A total of 199 yearlings sold during day 12 for a gross of $2,625,700 and average of $13,194. Last year’s average for the 12th day of selling–which was the final day–was 11.7% higher at $14,939. Yesterday’s median of $8,000 represented a 27.3% decrease from last year’s mark of $11,000. A total of 22% horses failed to reach their reserves vs. 17.7% 12 months ago. Cumulative statistics remain ahead of last year, with an average of $105,281 (+3%) and median of 52,000 (+4%). In all, 2,641 yearlings have sold for gross receipts of $278,047,200. John Brocklebank, Agent for Bill Peeples, secured session-topping hip 3730, who was consigned by Burleson Farms, Agent for his breeder Lakland Farm. Out of graded stakes-placed juvenile Wild Forest Cat (D’wildcat), the bay colt hails from the extended female family of MIGSW Jostle.
