Fasig-Tipton Releases Star-Studded November Catalogue
Fasig-Tipton Company has released the catalogue for their November Sale, to be conducted in a single session beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3.
“Our 2014 November catalogue is one of our finest yet,” Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning commented. “The sale will begin with 75 selected weanlings–which is a growing market sector in this sale –with several of North America’s current leading sires represented. The sale will then transition to a truly outstanding collection of top performers and prominent producers in foal to many of the world’s leading sires,” Browning continued. “The quality and diversity of this year’s catalogue should have broad appeal to buyers from all over the world.”
A total of 193 horses have been entered for the event, including three of the last five winners of the GI Kentucky Oaks–2010 heroine Blind Luck (Pollard’s Vision), in foal to Midnight Lute; Believe You Can (Proud Citizen), the 2012 victress, pregnant to Tapit; and last year’s winner, the recently retired Princess of Sylmar (Majestic Warrior). In addition to Blind Luck, champion 3-year-old filly of her generation, the sale with also offer two-time Eclipse Award winner Beholder (Henny Hughes)–catalogued as a racing or broodmare prospect; and She’s a Tiger (Tale of the Cat), the reigning champion 2-year-old filly who was retired earlier this season and is being offered as a broodmare prospect only.
Several horses with Breeders’ Cup aspirations or relations to Breeders’ Cup contenders also hold entries for the sale, including Judy the Beauty (Ghostzapper), who figures to be one of the favorites in the GI Filly/Mare Sprint; Stephanie’s Kitten (Kitten’s Joy), the GI Flower Bowl Invitational S. winner who is heading to the GI Filly/Mare Turf; Parranda (English Channel), recently the narrow runner-up in the GII Rodeo Drive S. and a likely runner in the F/M Turf; Concinnous (El Corredor), the dam of GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff hopeful Iotapa (Northern Afleet), offered in foal to Tapit; and Yearly Report (General Meeting), the dam of GI Frizette S. candidate Condo Commando (Tiz Wonderful), carrying a foal from the first crop of Jimmy Creed.
Adding further depth to the catalogue are Grade I winners Fashion Plate (Old Fashioned), a racing or broodmare prospect; Lady of Fifty (After Market), in foal to Tapit; Rosalind (Broken Vow); Sarah Lynx (Montjeu {Ire}), carrying a foal from the final crop of Street Cry (Ire); Stopchargingmaria (Tale of the Cat) (R/BMP); recent GI Beldame S. victress Belle Gallantey (After Market) (R/BMP); Dayatthespa (City Zip) (R/BMP); and Discreet Marq (Discreet Cat) (R/BMP).
