Samba Brazil to Sell at Arqana December
Samba Brazil (Ger) (Teofilo {Ire}), winner of the 2013 G3 Grosse Europa Meile and twice Group 3-placed in Italy, will be offered in foal to leading sire Dubawi (Ire) at the Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale in Deauville Saturday, Dec. 6. The highweight older mare in Germany last season, the Gestut Karlshof homebred descends from one of the top German families in the stud book. A half-sister to G1SW Seismos (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}), Samba Brazil is out Sasuela (Ger) (Dashing Blade {GB}), herself a half-sister to champions Samum (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}); Salve Regina (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}), the dam of GII Ballston Spa H. upsetter Salve Germania (Ire) (Peintre Celebre); and MG1SW Schiaparelli (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}). Additionally, Sasuela is kin to Sanwa (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}), the dam of recently retired G1 Deutsches Derby hero Sea The Moon (Ger) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Samba Brazil’s female family has proved popular in the Arqana sales pavilion as recently as this past summer when a Monsun filly out of Sasuela topped the August Yearling Sale on a bid of €1.2 million from Tony Nerses.
