KY Oaks on the Horizon For Brandi

Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas has laid out the plans for the first half of GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies upsetter Take Charge Brandi (Giant’s Causeway)’s sophomore season with the GI Kentucky Oaks being the main target. The Willis Horton colorbearer will race twice at Oaklawn next year prior to the Oaks. 

“The [GIII] Honeybee S. [Mar. 7] and the [GIII] Fantasy S. [Apr. 4] would be the obvious choice,” Lukas said. “January and February will go fast. Our obvious goal is the Oaks.” 

Since her Breeders’ Cup triumph, Take Charge Brandi has collected wins in both the GIII Delta Downs Princess S. Nov. 22 and the GI Starlet S. at Los Alamitos Dec. 13, which is likely to earn her an Eclipse award..
