Lucayan Bound for Spain

Pandora Stud's French Classic winner Lucayan (Fr) (Turtle Bowl {Ire}–La Vltava {Ire}, by Grand Lodge) will stand at Yeguada Torre Duero in Valladolid, Spain according to Racing Post. A winner at first asking as a juvenile, the Francois Rohaut trainee scored in the 2012 G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains. Transferred to Neil Drysdale for a stint in America, the dark bay won the GII Hollywood Turf Cup as a 4-year-old in addition to five other graded-stakes placings. Lucayan was retired with four wins in 17 starts and earnings of $723,913. Out of La Vltava (Ire), Lucayan is a half-brother to Spanish champion stayer Karluv Most (Fr) (Della Francesca). This is also the extended family of champion and influential matron Miesque (Nureyev). He will stand for €2,500 in 2015.
