Dubai Duty Free Now Worth $6 Million

Meydan Group has announced a five-year sponsorship deal with UAE marine terminal operator DP World, notably including the G1 Dubai Duty Free, which will now be run as the Dubai Turf with total prize money of $6 million, up from $5 million in recent years. 

The 1800-meter turf contest holds a glittering roll of honor, headed by last year’s memorable win by Japan’s Just A Way (Jpn) (Heart’s Cry {Jpn}), which placed the 4-year-old firmly on top of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse rankings. 

Meydan Group chairman Saeed Al Tayer commented, “It gives me great pleasure to welcome DP World to Meydan as a Pillar Partner, especially as we edge towards the landmark 20th running of Dubai World Cup day–the event that was responsible for placing Dubai on the global map back in 1996.”
