Euro Charline to target Dubai Turf
Team Valor’s Euro Charline (GB) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) is set to target the G1 Dubai Turf, formerly known as the Dubai Duty Free, after pleasing trainer Marco Botti in her morning exercise. The 4yo filly spent has not been seen since her victory in the GI Beverly D. S., Aug. 16, having been sidelined through injury. Team Valor CEO Barry Irwin said, “I consider this to be super news since it comes without any prompting from us. Because of the filly’s injury, I did not want to put any pressure on Marco to run her in this race. I always figured, if it came up too soon for this year, that we could always point for it next year.”
However, the Newmarket handler recently expressed confidence that Euro Charline would be ready for the 1800-meter Group 1, Mar. 28. “Euro Charline is going very well and I am pleased with her,” Botti said. “She is moving well and is in great form at this time of the season.” Euro Charline will be aiming to emulate fellow Team Valor color-bearer Ipi Tombe (Zim), who won the G1 Dubai Duty Free in 2003.
