Today's G3 Al Shindagha Sprint features the 2012 and 2013 winners of the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen, and it is the 2013 winner Reynaldothewizard (Speightstown) who gets the morning line nod at 8-5 off a decisive score in the Listed Dubawi S. Jan. 15. The veteran 9-year-old last year failed to hit the heights that saw him go three-for-three through the carnival, but his first-up score in the Dubawi over this track-and-trip indicated he is firmly back on track and ready to shoot for a second Shaheen. The 2012 winner, Krypton Factor (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}), is 15-1 on the morning line and comes in off a runner-up effort in a Kempton conditions race Oct. 8. Sheikh Hamdan's Rafeej (GB) (Iffraaj {GB}) is the pick of stable rider Paul Hanagan among three blue-and-white colorbearers. The 6-year-old is making just his second start since finishing ninth in this event last year on the Tapeta, but he made a promising dirt debut when running out a 3 1/4-length victor of a non-carnival listed race over this track-and-trip Dec. 18. Scandinavian shipper Beat Baby (Ire) (Johannesburg) made a strong first impression when defying a four-month layoff to take his dirt debut over this track-and-trip Jan. 22, and he is 6-1 on the U.S. morning line.
