Jose Nelson Responds to Dean Towers’s Op/Ed
What a good piece written by Dean Towers on simulcasting fees. It explains very well the complex world in which racing is today, one where not only breeders, owners, trainers, racetracks and jockeys provide value but those distributing the product and marketing the experience of racing as well. It gets very difficult to accept it, but at the end it is not different or worse than what happens in so many businesses around the world. It is just that we are so focused on our horses and our horse environment that pieces like this one comes as a surprise. I only wish that TDN asks this man to expand more on the subject sooner than later, since it helps us all in understanding a part of our racing world that it is sometimes tarnished by stereotypes.
