Clearer Slipper picture for Godolphin

John O'Shea, head of Godolphin's training operation in Australia, has reported that exciting juvenile Holler (Aus) (Commands {Aus}), the impressive winner of his only start Jan. 17, will miss the G1 Golden Slipper and instead be sent for an Autumn spell. The colt was a late withdrawal in last Saturday's G2 Silver Slipper S. after running a temperature and missing some training. Godolphin remains likely to hold a strong hand in the feature race come Mar. 21, with four of their charges currently sitting in the top 10 on the ante-post betting market.

Exosphere (Aus) (Lonhro {Aus}), a wide-margin maiden winner at Kembla last time out, goes to post in today's Skyline S., and a win on this occasion would earn him a ballot exemption for the Golden Slipper. The seven-runner field comprises another Godolphin colt in Mogador (Aus) (Lonhro {Aus}), who was second to the former on his only start to date. Furnaces (Aus) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) only found his stable mate Haptic (Aus) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) too good in the Listed Lonhro Plate on Valentine's Day and was highly impressive when winning a trial unextended at Warwick Farm Friday. A pair of Godolphin-bred and owned fillies, Italy (Aus) (Domesday {Aus}), winner of a Canterbury maiden on her second start, and Circular (Aus) (Street Cry), who ran third on debut Feb. 18, are in the Sweet Embrace S. Saturday, a race whose winner will also be exempted from ballot for the Golden Slipper.
