Charm Spirit to Shuttle to New Zealand

Last year's triple Group 1 winner Charm Spirit (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) will shuttle to Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand this year and stand for NZ$25,000. The 4-year-old is currently standing his first season at Tweenhills in Britain.

Raced by Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Thani and trained by Freddy Head, Charm Spirit won three Group 1s over a mile in three months last year: the Prix Jean Prat, Prix du Moulin de Longchamp and Queen Elizabeth II S. on British Champions Day.

“Charm Spirit is a cracking stallion prospect and we're very proud to join with Sheikh Fahad and the Royal Family of Qatar to make him available on our stallion roster at Windsor Park,” said Windsor Park co-owner Rodney Schick. “We have been looking for a stallion with the right race record, pedigree and physicality. In Charm Spirit I believe we've found that horse, one which will particularly suit the Australasian conditions and marketplace where his sireline is performing so well.”

Another son of Invincible Spirit, I Am Invincible (Aus), was last year's leading first-season sire in Australia, his progeny headed by the Royal Ascot-bound Group 1 winner Brazen Beau (Aus). Windsor Park also stands shuttlers Rip Van Winkle (Ire), Thewayyouare and Pour Moi (Ire).
