New Longchamp In The Works

A project to build a new Longchamp Racecourse was voted to continue 8-4 Thursday by the board of director of France Galop, according to Jour de Galop. A company was also chosen for the construction of the new facility, but that party will be revealed at a later date. 

Construction on the new track will begin immediately after this year’s G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which will be run at Chantilly in 2016, the only racecourse in the country deemed similar enough to Longchamp. Racing will return to the new Longchamp in 2017.
