Tom Ludt to Head New Project

The Stronach Group announced late Thursday evening that Senior Vice President Tom Ludt has been appointed to spearhead a new company initiative. Effective immediately, Ludt will assume control of the creation and implementation of a new national project under development within The Stronach Group. 

As President of The Stronach Group’s Santa Anita Park, Ludt oversaw a successful 68-day Winter Meeting, which concluded this past Sunday, Apr. 19. In a meet that opened Dec. 26, the track posted a 3% year-over-year increase in overall pari-mutuel handle and a 4% year-over-year hike in on-track attendance. 

As a result of his new appointment, Ludt will no longer oversee the day-to-day operations of Santa Anita Park. Keith Brackpool, Chairman of The Stronach Group’s West Coast Operations, will assume control of Santa Anita’s day-to-day operations effective opening day of the track’s 2015 Spring Meeting Friday, Apr. 24. 

“We very much appreciate Tom’s stewardship of the Santa Anita Park operations over the past two years, and we have now asked him to focus his talents on an important new project that we plan to roll-out in the coming months,” said Brackpool.
