Darley To Stand Guineas Winner

Last year’s G1 Caulfield Guineas hero Shooting To Win (Aus) (Northern Meteor {Aus}–Listen Here {Aus}, by Elusive Quality) will join Darley Australia’s Kelvinside roster in the Hunter Valley for the 2015 season, standing for A$38,500. Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden–who branched out into a public training partnership a little over a year ago after eight years with Darley–Shooting To Win won the Caulfield Guineas and G2 Stan Fox S. last spring and was third in this year’s G1 Randwick Guineas. He retires as the highest-rated son of Northern Meteor, who was Australia’s leading first-season sire in 2012-13 but died of colic in 2013. Shooting To Win joins fellow sophomores Brazen Beau (Aus) (I Am Invincible {Aus}) and Hallowed Crown (Aus) (Street Sense) as new members on the Darley roster.

“The trio of Brazen Beau, Hallowed Crown and now Shooting To Win enables us to offer breeders the best group of 3-year-old colts to retire to stud we could possibly hope for,” said Alastair Pulford, Darley Australia’s head of sales. “People who come to see Shooting To Win will be staggered by his physique. He is, to my mind, a commercial breeder’s dream; an awesome-looking son of a great stallion who lived up to all expectations.”
