Western Hymn To Ship To France

Western Hymn (GB) (High Chaparral {Ire}), winner of the G3 Gordon Richards S. on seasonal debut at Sandown Apr. 24, will head to France for his next outing, according to trainer John Gosden. The 4-year-old will resurface in the May 31 G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly.

“It is a slightly unusual route, but Western Hymn will be going for the Grand Prix de Chantilly,” Gosden confirmed. “He could have gone for the [G3] Brigadier Gerard at Sandown [May 28], but he would have to carry a penalty in that race, whereas the other is a Group 2.”

The conditioner added, “He has been in good form since winning at Sandown. He worked on his own [Saturday] and moved well. I could not be happier with him.”
