Dolniya On Track For Coronation
The Aga Khan’s 4-year-old filly Dolniya (Fr) (Azamour {Ire}), winner of the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic when last seen Mar. 28, will make her British debut in the G1 Coronation Cup June 6. Dolniya is lightly raced, having made just eight starts to date, but she has made the most of those opportunities, having also won the G2 Prix de Malleret and finished third in the G1 Prix Vermeille and fifth in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last year. She opened her season with a win over multiple Group 1 winner Flintshire (GB) (Dansili {GB}) in a Chantilly conditions race Mar. 3.
“She worked [Tuesday] and worked well,” said Georges Rimaud, stud manager for the Aga Khan. “She’s in good form and I think the Coronation Cup will be a good test for her. I think it will be a tough race, but this is one of her big objectives for the end of spring and we are looking forward to seeing her run. We can make a plan for the summer after we see how she performs at Epsom.”
