Khalid Abdullah homebred Epicuris (GB) (Rail Link {GB}) will bypass the May 31 G1 Prix du Jockey Club in favor of the June 6 G1 Epsom Derby after France Galop officials refused permission for stalls handler Nicolas Blondeau to load the colt at Chantilly, Equidia reports.
Epicuris, winner of last year's G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, was scratched behind the gates of the G2 Prix Greffulhe May 5 after refusing to load. He subsequently passed a stalls test under Blondeau's guidance last week. Blondeau, who also helped Goldikova (Ire) (Anabaa) before many of her races, will be allowed to accompany Epicuris under British Horseracing Authority rules.
