Botti Keeping Tabs On Weather Forecast

Trainer Marco Botti is prepared to play the long game with his top class stayer Tac De Boistron (Fr) (Take Risks {Fr}). The 8-year-old has a confirmed preference for soft gound and in the event of a dry summer Botti is prepared to wait for late season targets such as the G1 Irish St Leger, the G1 Prix du Cadran and G1 Prix Royal-Oak, a race he has won for the last two years. Having missed an engagement at Longchamp recently due to the drying ground Botti will have his charge on standby should conditions alter ahead of the G1 Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

The Newmarket trainer said, “We will see what happens with the ground. If it is too quick we will take our time and wait for the Irish St Leger and races like that. I don’t want to keep him in fast work all the summer with the uncertainty of the ground. He has a lot of options in the latter part of the season – the Gold Cup is three weeks away, so we will keep him fit and see what happens with the weather at Ascot.”
