No Rest For Sleepy

Hughie Morrison is keen to step up one of his stable stars Not So Sleepy (GB) (Beat Hollow [GB}) in grade following his gritty win the Listed Dee S. at Chester earlier this month. A tilt at the G3 Tercentenary S. at Royal Ascot June 18 is on the cards for the 3-year-old gelding who carries the silks of Lady Blyth whose husband Lord Blyth bred the horse. “Not So Sleepy will go for the Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot now, as it is one of the only races available to him where you didn’t have to enter months in advance”, said Morrison before adding, “We are very pleased with him, and it was good to see the horse who finished third behind him Prince Gagarin (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) run well enough to finish third in a Group race in Ireland the other day. It shows the result was no fluke.”

Hughie Morrison hopes to bring several challengers to Royal Ascot and among them will be Chil The Kite (GB) (Notnowcato {GB}) who goes for the Royal Hunt Cup, a race he finished second in last year. Though the battle hardened campaigner will have his supporters Morrison feels he will face a tough task commenting, “I suspect there will be one or two in the race that will get in lightly compared to us.”
