Another high profile pre-Royal Ascot purchase has been revealed as Godolphin have confirmed their purchase of Jim Bolger's G1 Irish 1000 Guineas winner Pleascach (Ire) (Teofilo {Ire}). The filly will carry the blue silks when lining up for the G2 Ribblesdale S. next Thursday, a race which sees her stepping up to a mile and a half for the first time.
John Ferguson, bloodstock advisor to Sheikh Mohammed reported on www.godolphin.com “Jim is keen for the filly to run at Royal Ascot, with the G1 Irish Derby and the G1 Irish Oaks both being targets in the future. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed believes when buying young Classic fillies, you look at them as a 10-year plan rather than just as a racehorse, and with the stallions that we now have at our disposal, the future is exciting.” Jim Bolger also bred Pleascach out of the Thunder Gulch mare Toirneach, who this year foaled a filly by Teofilo and is back in foal to the same Darley stallion this year.
