York Next Stop For Goldream
Last weeks G1 King’s Stand S. hero Goldream (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) is likely to avail of a short break before targeting the G1 Nunthorpe S. at York in August. The Robert Cowell trained 6-year-old has risen through the handicap ranks over the last few seasons culminating in his finest victory last Tuesday, his first at Group 1 level. His short head win over Medicean Man (GB) (Medicean {GB}) provided sprint specialist Cowell with a second victory in the race and he reported Goldream to have taken the race in his stride. “He came out of the race absolutely fine and is such a gentleman of a horse with a super attitude”, reported Cowell before adding.”He went out in the field and had a buck and a kick, but then he just eats grass and is a very sensible horse. As things stand, I think he’ll probably go straight to York. I had a chat with the owner after the race and while it is quite a long time between now and the Nunthorpe on August 21, he is so easy to train I think he would get himself straight.”
