Stellar Wind Possible for Cotillion

Hronis Racing’s GII Summertime Oaks heroine Stellar Wind (Curlin) seems to have exited Saturday’s victory in good order and is being considered for Parx’s GI Cotillion S. Sept. 19.

“I haven’t really put my hands on her as yet this morning, but I saw her walking around and she looked good,” trainer John Sadler said. “It looks like she came out of it well, but I don’t have any thoughts on where I’m going to run yet. I’ll enjoy this for a few days, but she might run at Del Mar and she might travel, too. It looks like a lot of the big 3-year-old filly races are out of town. The Cotillion is one we’d consider. I like that track.”

Sadler was kept busy Sunday morning by fellow Hronis Racing colorbearer Hard Aces (Hard Spun), who worked six furlongs in 1:13 in Arcadia in preparation for a start in Saturday’s GI Gold Cup at Santa Anita. The 5-year-old was most recently third in the GII Californian S. May 30.

“It was a good last work before the Gold Cup,” Sadler said. “He went in company [with Native Ride (Candy Ride {Arg}) 1:13.60] and looked good. He’s not a particularly fast work horse, but for him, it was a real nice work.”
