Ervedya To Face Elders in Rothschild

Aga Khan homebred Ervedya (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}), winner of the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches and Royal Ascot’s G1 Coronation S. in her last two outings, is set to face elders in the G1 Prix Rothschild at Deauville Aug. 2. Georges Rimaud, manager of The Aga Khan’s Studs in France, has reported the Jean-Claude Rouget charge exited the Coronation in good order.

“She is back in Pau [at Rouget’s stables] and back into her routine,” Rimaud said. “She took the race extremely well. The Prix Rothschild is her likely next race.”

Ervedya is unbeaten in three outings this year, having taken the G3 Prix Imprudence on seasonal debut.

Another French Classic winner to run at Royal Ascot, this year’s G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulians scorer Make Believe (GB) (Makfi {GB}), could attempt to redeem himself from a last-place finish in the G1 St. James’s Palace in Deauville’s G1 Prix Jacques le Marois Aug. 16.

“There is nothing wrong with him; he’s just going to have a little break and then we’ll see whether to run him in Deauville,” said trainer Andre Fabre. “It could have been the ground at Ascot.”
