Nudged a bit closer by Jose Lezcano on the backstretch, the bay exploded from between horses in the lane and sailed clear to win by an impressive 4 1/2 lengths over Life Imitates Art (More Than Ready). The winner is a half to Little Jerry (Candy Ride {Arg}), SP, $223,158; and his dam produced a colt my Midnight Lute this term. The last runner Bill Mott both owned and trained was Roadster (Street Cry {Ire}), a colt Mott picked up midway through his 3-year-old season and who did not win any of his six starts for the Hall of Famer.
