Taylor Target For Secret Gesture
Qatar Racing and Newsells Park Stud’s Secret Gesture (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), controversially disqualified after passing the post first in the Aug. 15 GI Beverly D. S. at Arlington Park, is likely to return to North America for her next outing, the GI E.P. Taylor S. at Woodbine Oct. 18.
“Secret Gesture has come out of the race fine and looking forward, the last discussion was that she would be going to Woodbine for the GI E.P. Taylor S. next,” David Redvers, racing advisor to Qatar Racing, told Racing Post.
Secret Gesture, who was seeking a first win at the highest level at Arlington, crossed the line 1 1/4 lengths to the good of Watsdachances (Ire) (Diamond Green {Fr}), but was placed third after alleged interference with third past the line Stephanie’s Kitten (Kitten’s Joy) in the closing stages. Redvers told Racing Post an appeal of the disqualification has been put into motion.
“The appeal has been lodged and we have [been] told the hearing should be in the next 30 days,” he said. “I think it can be done over the phone, but we have got a lawyer so it is all in hand.”
