Medicean Filly Continues Streak In the Arenberg
Updated: September 3, 2015 at 12:19 pm
After a smooth winning debut over six furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte July 5, Yakaba suffered from what Aidan O’Brien would term as “stage fright” when sixth in the G2 Prix Robert Papin over 5 1/2 furlongs back there three weeks later before rebounding to win the Listed Prix de la Vallee d’Auge with authority over this trip at Deauville last time Aug. 15. Keen initially behind the leading trio, the chestnut was pushed along before the quarter pole and after gaining the lead passing the furlong marker asserted to continue her upward trajectory.
