Coolmore's 2023 Goffs Orby Book 1 sale topper Minnie Hauk (Ire) (Frankel {GB}–Multilingual {GB}, by Dansili {GB}), a €1.85-million purchase, followed up a debut second at Cork earlier this month with a breakthrough score in Saturday's Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden over one mile at Leopardstown.

MINNIE HAUK (IRE) (f, 2, Frankel {GB}–Multilingual {GB}, by Dansili {GB}), the Goffs Orby Book 1 sale topper when knocked down for €1.85-million last year who registered a debut second at Cork earlier this month, was trapped wide racing prominently and stalked the pace in a close-up second after prolonged early exchanges. Sent forward on the home turn, the 2-5 pick came under pressure when threatened in the straight and was driven out in the latter stages to hold Subsonic (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) by a half-length. “She had a lovely run the first day and came on nicely from it,” commented Ballydoyle's Chris Armstrong. “Wayne [Lordan] gave her a lovely ride and said she just wasn't mad about the [soft] ground. She's a beautiful mover and she'll handle better ground. She's a lovely filly to look forward to next year and to start off in one of the trials. She's a lovely staying filly and, hopefully, she'll turn into an Oaks filly.” Minnie Hauk is the sixth of seven foals and third scorer produced by a full-sister to G3 Tercentenary Stakes-winning sire Remote (GB) (Dansili {GB}). Her dam Multilingual (GB) (Dansili {GB}) is also kin to multiple Group 1-winning sire Kingman (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) out of G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Zenda (GB) (Zamindar). The April-foaled bay is a half-sister to dual Group-winning G1 Prix d'Ispahan runner-up Tilsit (First Defence) and a yearling filly by No Nay Never. Multilingual was bred to Justify this year. Sales history: €1,850,000 Ylg '23 GOFOR. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0, $15,392.
