6th-KEE, $57,657, Alw, 10-21, (NW1X), 2yo, f, 1 1/16m, 1:46.34, ft.
PROGNOSIS (f, 2, Tiznow–Copper State {MSW & MGISP, $486,141}, by Jump Start), never factored when ninth sprinting over the Ellis grass in her career bow Aug. 8 and was a neck winner switched to the main track there Sept. 7. The $150,000 KEESEP yearling acquisition was second-choice on the board for this first route appearance at 5-2 behind 4-5 fancy and ‘TDN Rising Star’ Southern Girl (Tapit), a half-sister to GI Breeders’ Cup Classic hero Mucho Macho Man (Macho Uno). In a pressing second just to the outside of a rival into the clubhouse turn, the dark bay was traveling well through a half in :49.42 and made her bid for the lead turning for home. In charge three deep for the stretch drive as Cold Dish (Ice Box) rallied up the rail, Prognosis battled that one every step of the way to get her nose down where it counted. Southern Girl, three wide the whole race, completed the trifecta. Copper State, a MSW and MGISP, produced a filly by Street Cry (Ire) in 2014 and was bred back to Distorted Humor this spring. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-0, $53,480. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
