Good Food Ireland Returns to BC

Good Food Ireland will represent Ireland for the fifth successive year at the annual A Taste of the World event at the Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland Oct. 29. Good Food Ireland is sponsored by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing and Coolmore.

Created by celebrity chef and Breeders’ Cup ambassador Bobby Flay, A Taste of the World is an international culinary event that takes place at each Breeder’s Cup promoting the national culinary identity of all of the Breeders’ Cup winners. The event features 15 countries, including Ireland, England, France, USA, Canada, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

Good Food Ireland will be represented at this year’s Breeders’ Cup by Ed Cooney, executive chef of The Merrion Hotel in Dublin, and Martin Shanahan, of RTE television’s Martin’s Mad about Fish and owner of Fishy Fishy in Kinsale.

“In Ireland our weather and landscape combine to make the perfect setting for producing and training top class racing thoroughbreds, just as they do for producing top class food,” says Margaret Jeffares, Founder and Managing Director of Good Food Ireland. “Good Food Ireland is proud to represent our amazing contemporary food culture at the Breeder’s Cup for the fifth year, reinforcing the connection between these two key elements of Irish heritage, and we are grateful to Irish Thoroughbred Marketing and Coolmore for their support, natural partners in helping us do just that.”
