Sheer Drama’s Future Still Undecided
Harold Queen’s dual Grade I winner Sheer Drama (Burning Roma)’s future is still uncertain at this time. Trainer David Fawkes brought the chestnut to her owner’s Ocala farm following a fourth-place effort in Keeneland’s GI Breeders’ Cup Distaff Friday.
“She’ll stay at the farm for about a month and then we’ll evaluate her and decide whether he wants to bring her back or breed her,” the conditioner said of the GI Personal Ensign H. and GI Delaware H. victress. “I’m hoping he leans this way.”
As for her effort in the Distaff, Fawkes commented, “Everything went good. I thought she ran excellent. She just drew a bad post and it compromised us. She shipped good, she trained well, she did everything right for us. Being an evenly matched race, you couldn’t be compromised that much and win. Still, she ran huge. Finishing fourth and not getting beat that far, I thought it was excellent.”
