Hesmonds Stud, owned by Nurlan Bizakov, was the successful buyer of 1/50 of a stake in Siyouni (Fr) (Pivotal {GB}) for €355,000, reported the Racing Post. Arqana hosted the sale, with a total of 31 bids being accepted for the young sire. Siyouni, a winner of the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-Grand Criterium and second in the G1 Prix Jean Prat on the racecourse, has already sired MG1SW and Classic winner Ervedya (Fr); G3 Prix Eclipse heroine Souvenir Delondre (Fr); and Trixia (Fr), winner of the G3 Prix des Reservoirs.

“Siyouni looks like he’s going to be outstanding,” Hesmonds Stud manager Tony Fry told the Racing Post. “He has certainly started off the right way and he’s siring beautiful-looking horses. This is the first share we’ve had in a stallion, and our first breeding interest in France. The boss, [Bizakov] bought the farm five years ago and he’s always looking to upgrade the horses–and this opportunity came along.”

Siyouni will hold court at his breeder His Highness the Aga Khan’s Haras de Bonneval in France for €30,000 for 2016.
