Clondaw Cracker (Ire) (Court Cave {Ire}) (lot 52), a 4-year-old gelding who won his lone start at Glenbane Nov. 22, topped trade at the inaugural Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham December Sale when selling to owner/breeder Roger Brookhouse for £120,000. The sale was a good result for consignor Michael Goff, who had purchased Clondaw Cracker for €25,000 last August.
Overall, the sale saw turnover of £1,616,000 and a clearance rate of 68%. The average was £42,526, and the median £31,000.
Trainer Eddie O'Leary also enjoyed a strong result when selling 4-year-old Keeper Hill (Ire) (Westerner {GB}) (lot 48) for £110,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock's Tessa Greatrex. Another six-figure lot was another 4-year-old gelding, Minella Beau (Ire) (King's Theatre {Ire}) (lot 45), sold to Anthony Bromley, also of Highflyer Bloodstock, for £100,000. Minella Beau was the winner of a Lisronagh point-to-point last Sunday after a troubled trip.
