The placed Mahadevi (Nirvana Du Berlais) (lot 64) brought a sale-topping €510,000 from Hamish Macauley and Coolmara Stables during the Aktem Grand Steeple-Chase Selected Sale.
The Hector de Lageneste and Guillaume Macaire-consigned bay is a half-brother to multiple graded winner Kalif Du Berlais (Masked Marvel), who was also twice Grade 1 placed over jumps.
Lot 20, a two-year-old store by Great Pretender was the other lot that sold for €400,000 or more, attracting a bid of €440,000 from Mags O'Toole. Part of The Channel Consignment draft, the filly out of Mariner's Light (Gentlewave) is a full-sister to none other than the decorated multiple Grade 1-winning hurdler Lossiemouth.
Two more lots sold for €200,000 or more: Odin Allen (Doctor Dino) (lot 57) also went to O'Toole for €210,000 from Windermere Stud; and lot 39, Titi Du Berlais (Goliath Du Berlais) brought €200,000 from Mandore International Agency on behalf of Alain Jathiere. Ecurie CCV offered the two-year-old store.
Overall, 46 lots sold from 75 offered (61%) for a gross of €2,744,000. The average was €59,652 and the median was €22,000.
