Strong 2015 Figures For Tattersalls

The Dubawi filly that topped Tattersalls' October Yearling Sale | Tattersalls

Newmarket based Tattersalls posted a strong set of trading results in 2015, selling a total of 262,139,150gns worth of horses throughout the year. Despite selling the highest priced yearling in the world this year this total aggregate was still slightly shy of 2014 turnover, albeit by only 0.5%. The aforementioned highest priced yearling, a filly by Dubawi (Ire) out of Loveisallyouneed (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) who sold to MV Magnier for 2.1M gns at October Book 1, was one of several highlights for the company which also included selling the mare Hanky Panky (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) for 2.7M gns to John Ferguson at the December Mare Sale, the highest auction price in the world for a broodmare in 2015. In his closing year statement Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented, “It is enormously satisfying that in 2015 Tattersalls has all but matched last year's record annual turnover and that the figures sit 7% above the pre-recession peak of 2007. Next year is set to be an historic one for Tattersalls as we celebrate our 250th anniversary. A lot has changed in that time, but the core values of integrity and service remain the same and we look forward to welcoming clients, old and new, to Tattersalls in 2016.”
